Pilates is a Full Body System of Movement

Growing older can mean moving better, feeling stronger, and becoming more flexible — not less. Pilates, when taught correctly, supports more efficient movement patterns, helping reduce injuries and physical issues over time.

Pilates is Tensegrity - the balanced relationship between length and strength throughout the entire muscular, skeletal, and connective system, especially the spine. Each class moves the spine through all ten directions, while encouraging smooth movement of the ball and socket joints on a stable core.

Pilates helps us move more effectively and calms our nervous system through diaphragmatic breathing.

Our goal is to move freely and be pain free.

The original apparatus — Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels — use variable spring resistance that adapts through range, promotes joint centration, and demands precision and control.
